Several creative Saudi women in the southern region of Asir are engaged in using Al-Qatt Al-Asir, the female traditional interior wall decoration of the region that has been in existence since hundreds of years. This ancient female art form, which involves adoring the houses’ internal walls and especially rooms for receiving guests with Al-Qatt, is considered as a key element of the Asir region’s identity.There are a number of museums and private art galleries on Al-Qatt Al-Asir within houses, run by creative women. Al-Ghamamah Mosque is one of the oldest mosques in Madinah. Located 500 meters southwest of Al-Salam Gate of the Prophet’s Mosque, the mosque was built first by the Umayyad Caliph Umar Bin Abdul Aziz when he was the governor of Madinah. The mosque named after Al-Ghamamah, which means cloud, and was constructed on an area covering 480 square meters in the place where Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) performed Eid prayer and offered rain-seeking prayer when the city of Madinah faced shortage of rain. — SPA

Al-Baha is one of Saudi Arabia’s prime tourist destinations, which is famous for its seasonal agricultural crops. Al-Baha farms produce most of the agricultural crops in the region such as grapes, pomegranates, figs, apricots, peaches, mango, guava, beige almonds, bananas, apples, prickly pears, quince and berries. The region’s agricultural grains include white corn, wheat, barley, millet, lentils, sesame, and vegetables of all kinds, in addition to aromatic plants such as mint, basil and kadi. Fish, fest and feast
The annual Hareed (Parrotfish) Festival kicked off in the Farasan Island in the southwestern region of Jazan. The traditional fishing festival starts every year when swarms of this pretty fish appear in the shallow waters in the Al-Hasis Beach close to the Farasan Island where the local people are waiting to hunt what they can of these fish.The Hareed Festival is celebrated by the people of Farasan Islands in mid-April of every year. The festival has become a key tourist festival that lures both locals and tourists to the region. PESERVE IN RESERVE
Sharaan natural reserve in AlUla governorate provides a suitable environment for various types of wild animals that live in the area since ancient times. Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman inaugurated this reserve, which spreads over an area of 1500 square kilometers with diverse terrain consisting of rugged mountains, rocks, and valleys. The reserve hosts many types of wild animals, including gazelle, Arabian oryx, ibex, and African ostriches. There are protection programs to preserve the endangered species in the reserve. The Saudi Arabian Hot Air Ballooning Federation (SAHAB) announced the launch of the first phase of the training program for obtaining a license from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). The program includes training in theory, which will be followed by field training in the Dutch city of Hengelo. The first batch of Saudi trainees began their three-month theoretical training.
