ASIR — The Al-Majarda Municipality is currently investigating a number of cleaning workers accused of exhorting money from commercial businesses money in order to pick up their garbage.

A number of shop owners complained to the municipality that their garbage was left unattended for many days and not carried off because they wouldn’t pay the cleaners or provide them with gifts or other favors.

The Municipality officials found out that some cleaners were demanding SR25 to pick up the garbage, which is contrary to the terms of their employment. The Municipality is continuing its investigations. — SG
