JEDDAH — The Jordanian consul general praised Jordan’s strong relations with Saudi Arabia on the occasion of his country’s 68th Independence Day on Tuesday.



Aly Al-Ghazawy, who hosted a reception at Jeddah Hilton, also praised Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and Crown Prince Salman.



He said: “Jordan has achieved a lot in diverse fields for the benefit of improving people’s standards of living under the leadership of King Abdullah II.”



The ceremony was attended by Prince Sattam Bin Khaled Bin Nasser, Prince Faisal Bin Jalawy Bin Saud and Ahmad Mohammad Tayeb, director general of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Makkah Region.



The consul general and consulate staff received guests who included princes, diplomats, prominent Saudi personalities and Jordanian community members.



The celebration began with a recitation of the Holy Qur’an, which was followed by the Saudi and Jordanian national anthems.



In his speech, Al-Ghazawy outlined the benefits of independence for his country and sent greetings and appreciation to Jordanians everywhere.



After his speech, the consuls general were invited to cut the celebration cake and then dinner was served to guests. The ceremony wrapped up with a popular Jordanian folk show.
