JEDDAH – While witnessing a growing demand for new cars, Saudi Arabia is considered to be one of the fastest growing automotive markets in the Middle East with massive car sales, according to Najeeb Alissa, Chairman of Alissa Auto.

Speaking to the Saudi Gazette during the ceremony held on Sunday to honor him as the winner of Sport Auto magazine “Man of the Year” award, Alissa said: “Alissa is proud to be confirmed as an official authorized dealer for Nissan in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. With over 60 years’ experience in the kingdom as a leading automotive company regionally, our vision is simple: to provide high quality automotive products and dependable after-sales services to customers whose needs and wants are the focus of our every action.”

As the new distributor of Nissan in the Kingdom, Alissa said “we aim for continuous improvement of our products and to improve the maintenance and repair services.”

With the attendance of a large number of Saudi businessmen and automotive experts among others, Gerard Saunal, publisher and editor-in-chief of Sport Auto magazine, said “we are pleased to present Alissa with our Man of the Year Award honoring his distinguished contributions to the auto industry.”

Najeeb Abdul Latif Alissa, Chairman of Alissa Auto, an affiliate of Abdul Latif Alissa Holding Group, has been named "Man of the Year" in the Saudi automotive sector for 2013/2014 by Sport Auto magazine, the largest Arabic magazine specializing in the automotive sector in the Middle East.

It is the first time that this prestigious title has been awarded to a Saudi businessman out of all the heads of major car companies in the Middle East.

Commenting on the award, Najeeb Alissa expressed his pleasure at being named "Man of the Year", saying: "Receiving this distinguished title gives me great happiness and a feeling of pride since it comes from one of the leading media houses in the Middle East.”

Alissa considers the award an honor for Alissa Group in general since it reflects the efforts of everyone who has contributed to making Alissa a success and achieving a leadership position in the region’s automotive sector.

He also noted that the award recognizes the Group’s vast expertise in the Saudi car market that has enabled Alissa to become the strategic partner for Nissan with the full capabilities to support and assist Nissan in increasing its sales in the Saudi market in due respect of its position as one of the world great car manufacturing companies.

Moreover, Alissa expressed his appreciation of the magazine’s role in informing Arab readers about developments in the global automotive industry and keeping them updated about the latest models in order to help them choose the car that best fulfills their aspirations.

Gerard Saunal said Alissa was awarded the title “Man of the Year"  in recognition of his great success in achieving a quantum leap for the automotive brands under the umbrella of Alissa Holding Group.
