JEDDAH — As Middle East’s top drivers gear up for the upcoming Jeddah Rally, the Isuzu Rally Team is expecting better luck in 2014.
“We have established a young Saudi team of highly talented professionals at our group for this Rally,” said Hisham Bakhashab, CEO of Bakhashab group.
The entry list for the inaugural event, set to take place from Jan. 30–Feb. 1st. is still provisional, but features an impressive list of Saudi, Qatari and Emirati drivers and co-drivers in a variety of T1 and T2 machinery.
It will be held under the patronage of Prince Mishaal Bin Majed, Governor of Jeddah, and head of Rally Jeddah’s Higher Organizing Committee.
He continued: “Despite its achievements to date in preparing for this local competition in such a short period of time, the Isuzu Rally Team has set realistic objectives for the initial rallies of 2014: to accumulate as much mileage as possible and to gain valuable experience in competitions locally and internationally. Each rally will mark another important step forward in the team’s ongoing development.”
The Isuzu rally team emerged in the first place at Hail Rally in 2010. The team also came in second in Egypt and Abu Dhabi the same year.
Bakhashab added: “At Jeddah Rally, the huge amount of work that we have collectively carried out so far will be put into practice. This rally has been the first major target in our development schedule this year and we hope we pull it out positively.
“Our aim is to finish the event and get some good experience and mileage to further develop the Isuzu rally,” he added.
The registration process will close one week prior to the rally’s launch.
