JEDDAH — The works of 16 young Saudi artists, who came from different parts of the Kingdom, were put under the spotlight in the "Red Bull Canvas Cooler" competition held at Park Hyatt here recently.
A large number of prominent artists, celebrities and local media representatives were in attendance.
The artists had to transform a blank canvas-wrapped Red Bull cooler into an inspirational work of graffiti.
Abdullah Al Zahrani, public relation manager of Red Bull Saudi Arabia, said" "’Red Bull Canvas Cooler’ competition was conducted for the first time in Saudi Arabia. Sixteen iconic Red Bull coolers were provided as a blank canvas to the artists, who specialize in different mediums and styles, to customize their coolers and create one of a kind artworks."
Winners will be judged by the public through the official website of Red Bull Saudi Arabia and the winning works will be showed at various selling points of Red Bull.
"Now we need people to help us decide who will be the first ever winner of ‘Red Bull Canvas Cooler Saudi Arabia.’"
The competition, which aims to support young artists, seeks to discover the creative potential of Saudi artists.
Abdulalah Al Raees, one of the artists who participated in the competition, expressed his admiration for the art competition as it encouraged young artists to show their skills and creativity through the art of gravity. "The competition proved to be a successful event and it turned out to be a really cool project."
