Civil Defense warns of heavy rains, flooding risk in parts of Saudi Arabia

RIYADH —
The Civil Defense has urged residents to exercise caution, remain in safe areas, and avoid valleys, flood-prone spots, and swimming in them, as thunderstorms are forecast to continue in parts of the Kingdom until next Wednesday.

The authority said Makkah region is expected to see moderate to heavy rainfall, leading to flash floods, hail, and downward winds stirring dust and sand. Affected areas include Makkah city, Taif, Maysan, Adham, Al-Ardiyat, Al-Laith, Al-Qunfudhah, Al-Jumum, Al-Kamil, Bahrah, Al-Muwaih, Turbah, Al-Khurmah, and Ranyah.

It added that Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, and Najran will also experience moderate to heavy rain, while light to moderate showers are forecast for Riyadh and Madinah regions.

The Civil Defense called on the public to follow official updates via media and social media channels.
