RIYADH —
Under the patronage of Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Adviser to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Emir of Makkah Region, Prince Saud bin Mishal, Deputy emir of the region, witnessed the signing of several strategic memorandums of understanding (MoUs) between the region’s Directorate of Prisons and three universities: King Abdulaziz University, Taif University, and University of Jeddah.

The agreements, signed at the Emirate’s headquarters in Jeddah, aim to enhance cooperation in academic, medical, research, and educational fields.

The initiative also strengthens the principles of social responsibility among public institutions and contributes to the rehabilitation of inmates through academic programs and research-based services that support reintegration efforts after release.

The MoUs also cover the development of training and skill-building programs for prison staff in the region to keep pace with ongoing advancements in correctional services and institutional management.
