NEOM — Former France international Alexandre Lacazette has officially joined NEOM Sports Club, becoming the latest high-profile signing in the Roshn Saudi League as the newly promoted side prepares for its debut season in the top flight.
The 34-year-old striker, Lyon’s second all-time leading scorer, brings a wealth of experience from Ligue 1 and the English Premier League, where he starred for Arsenal between 2017 and 2022.
During his time in England, Lacazette netted 54 goals in 158 league appearances and helped the Gunners lift the FA Cup in 2020.
NEOM SC confirmed the move on Tuesday with a message on social media: “From the cradle of heritage in Lyon to the frontier of the future at NEOM SC. Sharpshooter Alexandre Lacazette has arrived.”
The ambitious club earned promotion to the 2025–26 Roshn Saudi League by winning the First Division League under Brazilian coach Pericles Chamusca, and are looking to build a competitive squad for the upcoming campaign.
Lacazette joins a growing list of former Olympique Lyonnais stars now playing in the Kingdom, including Al Ittihad’s Karim Benzema and Houssem Aouar, and new NEOM SC teammate Saïd Benrahma.
His arrival follows Monday’s announcement of Ivorian midfielder Amadou Koné from Reims, as the club continues strengthening its roster ahead of the new season.
