RIYADH — The Culinary Arts Commission, in partnership with the Michelin Guide, announced the arrival of the globally renowned restaurant guide in Saudi Arabia, marking a major milestone for the Kingdom’s culinary sector.
Set to roll out in three phases throughout 2025, Michelin inspectors will conduct rigorous evaluations across Saudi cities to select standout restaurants for inclusion in the first-ever Saudi edition, which will be released in 2026.
Restaurant selections for the inaugural guide will be unveiled on the 15th of each month between October and December 2025, culminating in the complete guide’s release the following year.
The initiative aims to elevate restaurant quality, spotlight Saudi Arabia’s culinary diversity, and foster a competitive environment that rewards innovation and excellence.
Michelin stars, regarded as the most prestigious global culinary accolade, are awarded based on five criteria: ingredient quality, flavor harmony, technical mastery, the chef’s personality in the dish, and consistency across the menu.
