MOSCOW — The Russian Investigative Committee announced Saturday that four people were killed when a Yak-52 light aircraft crashed and caught fire in a field near the village of Pano in the Kolomna urban district, southeast of Moscow.

According to the committee’s statement, the aircraft took off from Severka airfield without proper coordination.

The crash occurred as the pilot attempted a barrel roll maneuver, resulting in a loss of control and subsequent impact.
