JEDDAH — Al Ahli Club Company announced the amicable end of its contractual relationship with British sporting director Lee Congerton.
In an official statement, the club expressed its gratitude to Congerton for his contributions and expertise, noting that his efforts had a clear impact, benefiting from more than 20 years of experience with top international clubs.
Reflecting on his time in Jeddah, Congerton said: “My journey with Al Ahli was filled with challenges and opportunities. I am grateful to the entire team for their support. I take pride in what we achieved, especially winning three titles, including a continental championship with the first team — a milestone I will always cherish.”
Al Ahli Club Company reaffirmed its commitment to ongoing development, emphasizing its intention to continue attracting high-level talent to enhance the club’s competitive standing both locally and regionally, in line with a clear institutional vision and precise execution plans.
Congerton began his football career in 2002 with Welsh side Wrexham before taking on his first sporting director role in 2011 with Hamburger SV in Germany.
He went on to serve in key positions at Sunderland, Celtic, and Leicester City, where he led recruitment.
