Saudi Gazette report

ARAFAT — The Ministry of Health announced on Thursday a remarkable 90 percent decrease in the number of heat exhaustion cases among pilgrims during the 2025 Hajj season, compared to last year. This significant reduction is attributed to the concerted efforts of the health sector, working in close collaboration with various government agencies, to proactively address health risks.

This success aligns with the objectives of the Health Sector Transformation Program and the Pilgrim Experience Program, both of which are integral to the Kingdom's Vision 2030. These programs aim to empower pilgrims to perform Hajj rituals in a safe and healthy environment.

The ministry confirmed that the substantial decrease is a direct result of enhanced preventive interventions, intensified health awareness campaigns, and robust coordination across the health sector and relevant government agencies. These combined efforts have significantly contributed to protecting pilgrims from heat exhaustion, enabling them to perform their rituals comfortably and safely.
