MAKKAH — The General Directorate of Civil Defense has banned the entry and usage of all types and sizes of cooking gas (liquefied petroleum gas) cylinders in pilgrim camps and the headquarters of government and private agencies within the holy sites.

This ban is effective from Wednesday morning, the first day of Dhul Hijjah, as part of a comprehensive preventive measure to minimize the risk of accidents during the Hajj season.


The directorate stated that its preventive supervision and safety teams will conduct field inspections to enforce the cooking gas ban within the holy sites. It said that any gas-powered cylinders or devices found will be confiscated. It also emphasized that strict legal measures will be taken against violators.
