ISTANBUL — Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa in Istanbul on Saturday.

The leaders held their talks at the Dolmabahce Presidential Office, where Erdogan formally welcomed al-Sharaa with an official ceremony before proceeding to a closed-door meeting.

Among the high-ranking officials in attendance were Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, National Defense Minister Yasar Guler, intelligence chief Ibrahim Kalin, and Haluk Gorgun, head of Türkiye's Defense Industries Secretariat.
