Saudi Gazette report

RIYADH — In a major drug haul in Riyadh, the General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC) has seized 1,520,000 amphetamine pills hidden inside a shipment of tables. The GDNC arrested the recipients, including three Syrian residents and one Saudi citizen.

The security operation leading to the drug seizure was carried out as part of the Ministry of Interior's ongoing efforts to combat drug smuggling and protect the security of the Kingdom and its youth.

The security authorities called on the public to report any information concerning drug smuggling or selling by calling 911 in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province and 999 in the rest of the Kingdom's regions. They may also contact the GDNC over the number 995 or through email: 995@gdnc.gov.sa. All reports will be treated with strict confidentiality, the directorate stated.
