JEDDAH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman have congratulated Pope Leo XIV on his election as Pope of the Vatican. The King and the Crown Prince sent separate cable of greetings to the pope.
Pope Leo XIV is the head of the Catholic Church and sovereign of the Vatican City State. He was elected pope in the 2025 conclave on May 8, following the death of Pope Francis.
