RIYADH — The tenth comprehensive inspection campaign has been launched by the Permanent Executive Committee for Service Centers and Fuel Stations, with the participation of over 300 inspectors from 11 government entities. The campaign covers 23 cities and governorates across Saudi Arabia and will run for four weeks. It coincides with the arrival of pilgrims for Hajj and the upcoming Eid Al-Adha holiday season.
The campaign focuses on monitoring the compliance of facilities operating fuel stations and ensuring their quality and conformity with approved specifications, by taking samples of all types of gasoline, diesel, and oils, in addition to ensuring that facilities meet the necessary regulatory licenses and permits to practice the activity, such as standardization sticker for fuel pumps, presence of regular licenses for workers in the stations, environmental licenses necessary to practice the activity, and the maintenance of mosques and their facilities.
Previous campaigns resulted in the complete closure of 8 stations for not meeting the minimum regulatory requirements, the partial closure of 141 stations for violating the measurement and calibration system, and the monitoring of more than 1,900 observations and violations.
The campaign targeted more than 913 stations distributed over 21 cities and governorates in various regions of Saudi Arabia, with the participation of 311 male and female monitors from 11 government agencies.
