KHARTOUM — Saudi Ambassador to Sudan Ali bin Hassan Jaafar arrived in Khartoum for the first time since the outbreak of the war. He also announced the commencement of work to renovate and rehabilitate the embassy in Khartoum.

This step follows the visit of the Chairman of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council Lt. Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, to Saudi Arabia. He met with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman at Al-Safa Palace in Makkah last month. They discussed the latest developments in Sudan and the efforts being made to achieve security and stability in Sudan.

Saudi Arabia also reaffirmed its firm position in supporting Sudan’s security, stability, and territorial integrity. Riyadh previously called on Sudanese parties to prioritize Sudan's interests over any factional interests and to spare the country the risks of division and chaos.
