Saudi, US energy ministers discuss research cooperation during KAPSARC visit in Riyadh

RIYADH —
Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman met with U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright and his accompanying delegation on Saturday at the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC) in Riyadh, as part of Wright’s official visit to the Kingdom.

The visit included a comprehensive briefing on KAPSARC’s contributions to energy policy research, energy transition, climate change mitigation, sustainable transport, and advisory services.

Wright was also introduced to the center’s development of advanced analytical models and tools that support decision-making in the energy sector.

The two sides explored avenues for cooperation in energy research, joint studies, and knowledge exchange, with a focus on strengthening collaboration to address shared challenges in the evolving global energy landscape.
