Saudi Gazette report

RIYADH —
The Transport General Authority (TGA) has announced that it collaborated with relevant authorities to apprehend several foreign trucks violating local regulations by transporting goods between cities within Saudi Arabia.

The authority reaffirmed its commitment to organizing the transport sector, enhancing compliance with regulations, ensuring fair competition, and improving safety and security in transport services. It also aims to protect public resources and road infrastructure.

The TGA emphasized that its enforcement mechanism, developed in cooperation with various government entities, strictly prohibits merchants, factories, importers, and businesses from contracting foreign transport vehicles to move goods between cities within the Kingdom.

The role of foreign trucks is limited to transporting goods from abroad to a specific destination within the Kingdom or carrying goods on their return trip from the destination city or cities along the return route. This process requires prior authorization from the General Transport Authority.

The authority reaffirmed its commitment to conducting regular inspection campaigns across all regions of the Kingdom in coordination with relevant stakeholders.

Additionally, it called on all citizens and residents to report any violations involving the operation of foreign trucks.
