WMO commends Saudi advancements in weather forecasting and climate resilience

The UN World Meteorological Organization (WMO) has praised Saudi Arabia for its significant efforts in improving weather forecasting and early warning systems, highlighting the advancements made in meteorology that enhance public safety and protect lives and property.

The WMO noted that the Kingdom's development of weather observation stations, effective international collaboration, and commitment to resilience against climate change reflect its dedication to improving meteorological services.

Additionally, the WMO emphasized the importance of the Saudi Green Initiative (SGI) in the Kingdom's environmental protection efforts.

It stated that climate data is essential for combating desertification and managing water resources, aligning with WMO goals and underscoring Saudi Arabia's commitment to international cooperation in addressing climate change.

The WMO expressed its appreciation for Saudi Arabia's support and looks forward to continued collaboration, wishing the Kingdom ongoing progress across various fields.
