RIYADH — The Ministry of Tourism announced on Wednesday that the total spending of tourists coming to Saudi Arabia from abroad during the last year exceeded SR141 billion. Spending on hospitality facilities was the highest among their total spending, reaching SR45 billion, according to the ministry’s annual tourism statistics report for 2023.

The ministry stated that spending by inbound tourists on shopping during the past year crossed SR25.5 billion, while spending on transportation and movement amounted to approximately SR21.5 billion. The report noted that spending on food and beverages reached SR19.4 billion, while spending on other purposes exceeded SR25.5 billion. The ministry report also showed that spending by incoming tourists on entertainment surpassed SR4 billion.

The report also pointed out that the total number of domestic and foreign tourists during the past year reached more than 109 million. They included more than 27 million foreign tourists.
