RIYADH — Saudi Arabia expressed condemnation and denunciation of the assassination attempt on Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico.

In a statement, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed the Kingdom’s rejection of all forms of violence, and vowed its complete solidarity with the Slovak Republic in facing any threats to its security and stability. The ministry also wished a speedy recovery for the prime minister, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

Slovakian prime minister Robert Fico is in a ‘stable but still in serious condition’ after an assassination attempt. Fico was shot multiple times Wednesday and left in a life-threatening condition, according to the Slovak government. The shooting took place in the town of Handlova, about 90 miles northeast of the capital Bratislava, as Fico emerged from a government meeting.
