RIYADH —
The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, in coordination with the Saudi Food and Drug Authority, has taken decisive actions in response to recent food poisoning incidents linked to Hamburgini restaurant in Riyadh.

The incidents were traced back to the bacterium "Clostridium botulinum" found in mayonnaise from the BON TUM brand used at the restaurant. It was also discovered in the same brand’s products at one of the manufacturing facilities.

As part of the response, the ministry has halted the distribution of the implicated mayonnaise and initiated a recall from all markets and food establishments across the Kingdom. Additionally, the production at the manufacturing facility has been stopped to apply necessary regulatory measures.

The comprehensive measures include recalling all remaining product batches from the facility across all production lines and expiry dates. All customers of the facility, including restaurants and food establishments, have been instructed to dispose of any stock of the product they possess.

Furthermore, the ministry, along with the Food and Drug Authority and other relevant local authorities, continues to conduct extensive monitoring, investigation, and regulatory campaigns to ensure the safety of food products offered to consumers throughout the cities of the Kingdom.

The ministry and related authorities urge the public to rely on official sources for information and to avoid spreading or falling for rumors and inaccurate news.
