Saudi Arabian authorities have thwarted an attempt to smuggle 1,298,886 amphetamine pills concealed within a shipment of electric ovens through Jeddah Islamic Port.

The operation, coordinated with the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA), led to the arrest of two individuals in Riyadh and Jeddah — a Sudanese resident and a Saudi citizen.

The suspects have been detained, with initial legal procedures completed and their cases referred to the Public Prosecution.

Security agencies urge citizens and residents to report any information related to drug smuggling or trafficking activities.

Reports can be made by calling (911) in the regions of Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, (999) in other regions of the Kingdom, or the General Directorate for Drug Control at (995).
