RIYADH —
Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, head of the medical and surgical team for the separation of conjoined twins, announced that the Nigerian conjoined twins Hassana and Hassina are in stable condition, thankfully, 48 hours after their separation surgery.

The operation, which took place at King Abdullah Specialist Children's Hospital within King Abdulaziz Medical City of the National Guard's Health Affairs, lasted 16 and a half hours.

Dr. Al Rabeeah added that the twins are still in intensive care under anesthesia, receiving intravenous nutrition and the necessary medications to ensure their condition remains stable.

All medical indicators for the twins are reassuring, and the medical team in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit is closely monitoring their health.

The twins require close supervision for about ten days to two weeks before their condition can be reassessed for a possible move from intensive care to the pediatric ward.

Dr. Al Rabeeah has also updated the twins' parents on their health status.

The parents of the Nigerian twins, Hassana and Hassina, expressed their deep gratitude and appreciation to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, for the warm reception and hospitality they have received since their arrival in the Kingdom.

They prayed for God's protection and blessings on the Kingdom's leaders and for continued security and peace in Saudi Arabia.

This surgery marks the 60th operation within the Saudi program for separating conjoined twins, which has overseen 135 cases from 25 countries since 1990.
