Rakitić secures Al Shabab victory over Damac in Saudi Pro League debut

— Croatian star Ivan Rakitić led Al Shabab to a 1-0 win against host Damac on Friday, in the 20th round of the Saudi Pro League, extending the host team's struggle.

Rakitić scored the game's only goal for Al Shabab in the 82nd minute, marking his debut for the team following his transfer from Sevilla in the winter transfer window. Additionally, Damac's player Sunusi Husawi was sent off in the 67th minute.

The victory elevated Al Shabab to 24 points, placing them in the tenth position, while Damac's tally remains at 30 points, securing the sixth spot.

Since being promoted to the professional league, Damac has yet to secure a win against Al Shabab. In their 12 encounters, Al Shabab won nine while three matches ended in draw.
