Nothing surprising about the onslaughts on Saudi Arabia

Jameel Altheyabi

One of the harshest things a person is supposed to be faced with is to contemplate how he can coexist with someone who owns a factory that produces lies and slander against him, or rather against his homeland to be precise. These are factories that only produce media bullets that target only destruction and insult.

In the past, we used to content ourselves with watching those ‘aragostas’ who appeared with all their elegance, pointing their knives at the chests of Saudi Arabia and its people.

What do they want? What can be concluded in this regard is that they want Saudis to sit in the shade and let them act in the name of their country, and to watch as their country’s potential and wealth go to those who they believe are more deserving of the wealth that God has bestowed upon Saudi Arabia, as people, land, and history. They do not want Saudi Arabia to take any step, policy, or strategy. They claim that they are the most capable, the smartest, the most deserving, and the best.

Foolishness dominates the minds of these “delusional” people. Take stock of the maneuvers by all countries before October 7, 2023, and after, and until today. Will you find any country that moves more for the Arab and Islamic causes than the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia? The consistent positions of Saudi Arabia over the decades on the Palestinian issue are the best evidence of this.

Despite the tremendous efforts made by Saudi Arabia in diverse fields and levels to resolve hot Arab and Islamic issues, it is not safe from the harm of the foolish, spiteful, and envious people who use the “keyboard” as a weapon to attack and challenge it. These remarkable Saudi efforts do not need any reckoning or statistics, as they are clearer than sunlight and are known to the majority of people.

Despite these systematic media onslaughts, the Kingdom did not stop halfway in search of a word of thanks, praise, or recognition for what it is doing. Perhaps the recent Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip is the best living example where the Kingdom is putting its political and economic weight into the heart of the sincere efforts to defuse the conflict and accelerate the creation of the suitable climate for implementing the “two-state solution.” Perhaps those immoral “keyboard” people do not know that the “two-state solution” is originally an idea that was agreed upon by all Arab countries, after the proposal of the late King Fahd in 1981 was presented by King Abdullah through consensus at the 2002 Beirut Arab Summit.

The disgraceful act of the envious people and the remnants of the nationalist and Islamist ideology continues, as if they are demanding that Saudi Arabia should give up its sovereignty, leadership, pioneering role, and higher interests to these ignorant people. Certainly, there is no doubt among the Saudis that their country is on the right path, serving its people, the interests of the entire region, and humanity in general. On the domestic front, the achievements of Saudi Vision 2030 continue, under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, and the leadership of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, overcoming challenges and realizing many of its goals during 2022-2023.

The features of the Vision 2030 became clear as Saudi Arabia achieved wider acceptance and that was evident in its almost winning the candidacy to host the 2034 World Cup, in addition to winning the 2029 Asian Olympics, and Expo 2030. Under the directives of the Saudi leadership, the Saudi sovereign Public Investment Fund continues to invest massively until Saudi Arabia is on the verge of acquiring majority of stakes in managing the famous Heathrow Airport in London, as well as pumping huge investments in technology companies, the manufacture of electric cars, and exploration for minerals vital to the 21st century industries, such as lithium, which is used to make electric batteries.

Despite the accuracy of its international position, in the larger scenario where the United States being the only global pole, Saudi Arabia decided to deal with US President Joe Biden with clear intention, until he was forced to visit Jeddah, to understand and consult with the Saudi leadership. Riyadh works with partners, allies, and brothers outside the American box, through deepening relations with China, Russia, the emerging Asian tigers, and the BRICS group of countries.

Perhaps these partnerships allowed the sober and decisive Saudi leadership to open the doors to realize the dreams of young Saudi men and women through better regulation of the labor market, proper use of the workforce, and expansion of modern industries capable of creating a positive economic impact on the earth, such as tourism, sports and entertainment, as well as giant investment strategies, such as NEOM City, and other major giga projects.

We have been living in the midst of onslaughts launched by Saudi Arabia’s opponents for decades. I remember that during the 1980s and 1990s they were competing to launch yellow bulletins with the aim of insulting Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states, and their editors published their “outcast” yellow newspapers while they stood dressed up in the streets of London, Paris and Washington, waiting to receive the price for their blackmail and abuse.

It was natural for the Kingdom to expand its digital broadcasting map throughout the world, so that its voice would reach people everywhere, instead of having a distorted image of the Kingdom drawn by those ignorant, hateful, and unscrupulous people. Saudi Arabia shouldered the task of bringing together Arab and Muslim leaders through shuttle diplomacy and that required weeks, and perhaps months, to hold even a single summit. The Kingdom closed ranks of the Muslim Ummah by reuniting Arabs and Muslims and bringing them together in several summits, through continuous communication, respect for the privacy and sovereignty of brotherly and friendly countries, and real participation in analyzing issues, and providing appropriate solutions to them.

What is certain is that the practice of banditry through the “keyboard” will remain the favorite temptation for those who do not know what they want, and for those who only care about insulting Saudi Arabia and fabricating lies and falsehoods about it. It has become a chronic disease that is difficult to treat, especially for those who want Saudi Arabia to fight their battles on their behalf, sacrificing everything precious and valuable for the sake of the survival of those who curse the “malicious keyboard,” which has become possible in this era to be programmed with artificial stupidity to always be ready to vomit insults and abuse.

It is certain that Saudi Arabia will move toward achieving its ambitions to transform from good to better, and from progress to giant leaps on the paths of the future of manufacturing, partnerships, exports, as well as excellence in tourism, sports, heritage, culture, entertainment, and education... It will not care about conspirators, insults and slander. The caravan is moving forward and nothing can stop it, even if the dogs bark and become more frenzied.
