RIYADH — The activities of the fourth round of the Saudi-Finnish joint committee concluded on Tuesday.

The fourth round, held in Riyadh, was headed by the governor of Saudi Arabia's General Authority of Foreign Trade for International Relations Abdulaziz Al-Sakran and Petri Peltonen, Finland's Undersecretary of State, Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment.

The joint committee discusses the development of bilateral economic relations, enabling cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Finland in all fields, specially trade.

Furthermore, it also aims at holding joint projects, exchanging experiences, and enhancing communication between the two governments.

The committee has been working on strengthening cooperation in the fields of circular economy, education, health, food, agriculture, transportation, logistics services, energy, engineering, communication and electronic games.

The present round of the committee approved a number of recommendations that would contribute to enhancing trade and investment, removing obstacles and challenges, and enabling cooperation through exchanging trade delegations, in addition to discussing the participation opportunities in the exhibitions that will be held in both countries.

At the end of the activities, Al-Sakran and Peltonen signed the minutes of the meeting and the items and recommendations that contribute to enhance the joint work between Saudi Arabia and Finland.

The trade exchange between the two countries, during 2018-2022, amounted to approximately SR8.8 billion.

Plastic and its products were the most prominent Saudi commodities exported to Finland, while wood and wood products were the main Finnish commodities imported into the Kingdom.
