RIYADH — The Madrasati electronic platform, under the Ministry of Education, has incorporated 10 video episodes from the “Introduction to Eastern Maqamat” program as part of the school educational activities.

Students of intermediate and secondary levels of public education in public and private schools will take advantage of the program. This program, which is an extension of the existing partnership between the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Culture, will be conducted under the supervision of the Music Commission.

The program’s episodes are based on enriching knowledge of the maqam (musical key) related to the Kingdom’s heritage, Arabic recitation, and vocal performance under correct educational rules, so that they address the definition of the basic maqams used, their types, and their purpose.

This program comes within the framework of activating the strategy of developing cultural capabilities. The strategy continues to implement its initiatives and programs towards disseminating and enriching knowledge and skills in the field of culture and arts.
