RIYADH — The Saudi-British Parliamentary Friendship Committee of the Shoura Council held a meeting, on Monday, with a delegation from the British Group of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (BGIPU).

The meeting between the Saudi-British Parliamentary Friendship Committee, headed by Council member and deputy chairman of the committee, Dr. Abdullah Bin Hamad Al-Salama, with a delegation of BGIPU, headed by Representative Mark Menzies, was held at the Council’s headquarters in Riyadh, in the presence of Council and committee members.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed issues of common interest, especially parliamentary relations between the Shoura Council and the British Parliament, as well as emphasizing the importance of activating the role of the parliamentary friendship committees in Saudi Arabia and Britain in a way that enhances common interests.

It is noteworthy that the parliamentary friendship committees in the Shoura Council aim to strengthen the bonds of friendship between the Shoura Council and parliaments in friendly countries.

It also aims to achieve more coordination and cooperation in parliamentary forums at the regional and international levels.
