NEW YORK —
Saudi Arabia actively exchanges information with more than 30 countries to confront the global drug scourge and mitigate its growing threat, Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan said during a UN meeting on Tuesday.

Prince Faisal participated in a high-level meeting of the Global Coalition to Address Synthetic Drug Threats on the sidelines of the 78th United Nations General Assembly in New York.

During the meeting, the Saudi foreign minister emphasized the adverse impact of synthetic drug trafficking on security and development, while stressing the serious consequences it imposes on societies and the complex challenges it presents to the international community. Addressing this global drug scourge requires close collaboration among governments.

Prince Faisal reaffirmed the Kingdom's commitment to the ministerial declaration launched by the Global Coalition to Address Synthetic Drug Threats. The declaration aims to expedite and strengthen an effective global response to combat synthetic drug-related issues.
