RIYADH — Saudi Arabia's Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) investigated 340 corruption suspects after conducting 3,452 monitoring tours while carrying out its duties in the month of Safar 1445 AH.

Nazaha said that among the accused were employees from government ministries, from the Ministry of Interior, Defense, Justice, Health, Education, Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, as well as from the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA).

About 134 citizens and residents were arrested, Nazaha confirmed, noting that some of whom were released on bail.

The corruption crimes in which the defendants were involved were charges of bribery, abuse of authority, money laundering, as well as forgery.

It also indicated that the regulatory procedures are being completed in preparation for referring the accused involved to justice.
