RIYADH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has issued a directive naming the road linking the city of Riyadh and Qassim region as King Fahd Road.
Changing the name of this vital 337-kilometer highway, inaugurated during the reign of King Fahd, affirms the late king's role in supporting the roads network and the accomplishments achieved during his reign.
Work continued on the expansion of the road until it extended to Haditha border crossing, considered one of the most vital parts of the road for its traffic load and intersection with the highway connecting Madinah with the Qassim region.
According to the Global Competitiveness Forum, the Kingdom enjoys a comprehensive road network, making it the top country listed on the road network interconnection index. The achievement was made thanks to the support given by the Saudi leadership to this vital sector. — SPA
