ROME — Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, Minister of Sports and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, and President of the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI) Giovanni Malago, signed a four-year memorandum of understanding (MoU) for bilateral cooperation.

The agreement was signed during a meeting in the Italian capital Rome, as part of Prince Abdulaziz’s trip to Europe.

The MoU aims to advance cooperation and enhance communication regarding winter sports between the two sides.

The deal comes as Italy’s preparing to host the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina and the Kingdom’s efforts to prepare for the historic hosting of the Asian Winter Games 2029 in Trojena as the first West Asian country to organize the Games. — SPA
