May 10, 2023

PORT SUDAN — A second Saudi relief airplane arrived at Port Sudan International Airport early Wednesday, carrying 10 tons of food baskets, shelter, and medical supplies, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The aid comes within the framework of the Saudi relief air bridge that is being operated by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) to help the brotherly Sudanese people.

The relief is sent in implementation of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, as an embodiment of the noble humanitarian role played by the Kingdom toward brotherly and friendly countries.

The first consignment as part of the Saudi relief airlift to Sudan was dispatched on Tuesday. The plane carrying 10 tons of food, shelter and medical supplies that left King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh arrived at the Port Sudan International Airport later Tuesday in implementation of the royal directives.

According to KSrelief Spokesman Dr. Samer Al-Jutaili, the humanitarian aid provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Sudanese people aims to alleviate the sufferings of those affected by the military conflict in Sudan. He further affirmed that this support is a continuation of the Kingdom's efforts to aid Sudan in various humanitarian and relief sectors. — SG
