Iran thanks Saudi Arabia for cooperating in evacuating 65 Iranians from Sudan

TEHRAN — The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Nasser Kanaani thanked Saudi Arabia's leadership for cooperating in evacuating 65 Iranians from Sudan.

Kanaani said that 65 Iranian citizens were evacuated from Khartoum to Port Sudan, then they were transported to Jeddah.

"Since the conflicts began in Sudan, the Iranian Foreign Ministry has seriously put the issue of the emergency evacuation of 65 Iranians living there on its agenda.”

He said, adding that after taking the necessary measures, the Iranian citizens were safely evacuated from Sudan to Jeddah.

Kanaani confirmed that the necessary measures have also been taken to transfer the Iranian evacuees from Saudi Arabia to Iran.

It is noteworthy that the total number of those evacuated from Sudan and arrived Jeddah since the start of the evacuation operations reached about 4,879 people, including 139 Saudi citizens, and about 4,738 belonging to 96 nationalities.
