RIYADH — Saudi Arabia condemned on Tuesday the blatant incursions by Israeli settlers into the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement carried by Saudi Press Agency.

While rejecting roundly the move, the Ministry emphasized that these practices undermine peace efforts and contradict international principles and norms with regard to respecting religious sanctities.

The Ministry reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s firm position in supporting all efforts aimed at ending the occupation and reaching a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue so as to enable the Palestinian people to establish their independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
