ETEC launches Saudi global ranking for higher education institutions

March 20, 2023

RIYADH — The Education and Training Evaluation Commission (ETEC) launched the Saudi global ranking for higher education institutions (SGR) as part of the Human Capability Development Program, one of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 initiatives.

The ranking of higher education institutions is crucial at a global level as it reflects their position among national and international institutions, highlighting their strengths and potential areas for improvement.

The ETEC developed a methodology for designing the ranking categories based on a conceptual framework and pillars for selecting ranking indicators, resulting in a ranking matrix. This methodology was implemented by the General Administration of Ranking Programs.

The Saudi Global Ranking marks the country’s first national university ranking system. It employs performance measurement methods using a transparent methodology that adheres to set standards and indicators, revealing the strengths and areas in which educational institutions must improve. — SPA
