KUWAIT — A state of emergency was declared as an oil leakage occurred in a location west of Kuwait, said an official at Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) on Monday.

In a statement, Deputy CEO for Administrative Affairs and official spokesman of the KOC Qusai Al Amer said that the leakage had caused some injury to personnel, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.

No poisonous gas leakage was detected at the site of the incident, he added.

KOC teams are currently handling the situation, taking the necessary procedure to contain the situation, the statement said. — Agencies
