RIYADH — The King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) Tuesday received a delegation from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), in the presence of Mawhiba Secretary General Dr. Aamal Al-Hazza.

During the visit, the delegation was briefed on Mawhiba's achievements, programs, role in the discovery and care of talented people, and the development of human capabilities in various scientific fields.

The Deputy Director General and Chief of the Department of Nuclear Science and Applications Dr. Najat Mokhtar gave a briefing about the IAEA.

Dr. Mokhtar referred to the importance of IAEA through its initiatives in peaceful applications of nuclear energy in the areas of environment, food, agriculture, health, clean and healthy water, enhancing safety and security, and promoting science and technology.

During the visit, the two sides discussed ways for cooperating in providing sponsorship programs for gifted people in the fields of nuclear science applications, nominating students from Mawhiba to enroll in training programs at IAEA, as well as scholarships for master's studies in areas supported by the agency. — SPA
