255 Saudi women complete training to join special security forces

RIYADH —
Under the patronage of Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, Director of Public Security Lt. Gen. Muhammad Al-Bassami on Wednesday attended the graduation ceremony of 255 female cadets of special security forces.

They belonged to the fourth batch of female recruits who graduated from the Women’s Training Institute of the Armed Forces with specializations in diplomatic security and Hajj and Umrah security. They will join the Special Forces for Diplomatic Security and the Hajj and Umrah Security Forces.

The female graduates received training in applications and information technology, as well as in theoretical and practical lessons on skills required for carrying out security tasks. They also received training in the systems and procedures of security work, in addition to preparing them for the special responsibilities they are required to carry out in line with the nature of their work.

Saudi Arabia started recruiting women to join various branches of the Armed Forces in 2019. Saudi women are allowed to sign up to join the Saudi Arabian Army, Royal Saudi Air Defense, Royal Saudi Navy, Royal Saudi Strategic Missile Force, and Armed Forces Medical Services, in addition to the diplomatic, and Hajj and Umrah special security forces.
