Women participation in labor market reaches 37% in 2022

2.2 million Saudis working in private sector; the highest historically

RIYADH — Minister of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) Eng. Ahmad Al-Rajhi said that the percentage of women participation in the labor market during 2022 has reached 37%.

Eng. Al-Rajhi made the remarks during his speech at the Social Dialogue Forum's twelfth version, as he confirmed the ministry's keenness to harmonize with all its partners in the labor law and consider them as an important element in success, development and empowerment.

He added that the forum aims to strengthen the social dialogue between the three production parties.

The importance of the forum lies in investing in opportunities and addressing challenges, as well as providing a distinguished work environment towards an attractive labor market, to contribute in supporting the national economy and the labor market strategy, he said.

Eng. Al-Rajhi noted that there are about 2.2 million Saudis working in the private sector, which is the highest historically.

More than 550,000 Saudi men and women have been employed, in addition to the establishments’ commitment to work decisions and rules by 98%.

Establishments were adhered by wage protection by 80%, also documenting 3.8 million work contracts, while the rate of amicable settlement of labor disputes increased by 74%.
