Khaled Al-Faisal announces SDAIA Chief Al-Ghamdi winner of Moderation Award

JEDDAH Dr. Abdullah bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi, president of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), has been chosen as the winner of the sixth edition of the Moderation Award.

Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, emir of Makkah and advisor to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Moderation Award, announced on Sunday the name of the award winner for the year 2022.

Dr. Al-Ghamdi has been picked for the prestigious award in recognition of his outstanding contributions in the field of technology with a focus on highlighting the civilized face of Saudi Arabia, as well as in harnessing technology to promote the values of moderate humanitarian work for members of the society, in addition to upgrading the values of national belongingness among individuals and institutions.

The award comes as one of the most important initiatives of the Prince Khaled Al-Faisal Institute for Moderation at King Abdulaziz University to renounce extremism and promote a culture of moderation, as it is being the approach taken by Saudi Arabia in all aspects.

It is noteworthy that this award is the first of its kind in the Kingdom. The award aims to promote five key concepts in society: to highlight the true image of the Kingdom in the field of moderation; support efforts in the field of moderation; encourage initiatives promoting a culture of moderation, in addition to raising awareness about the importance of moderation in all areas of life.

The award also enjoys a distinguished position through its focus on the axis of moderation and being an important incentive for creativity in the field of combating extremism in all its forms and manifestations at the local and international levels.
