Saudi Arabia, Indonesia sign MoU to cooperate in various fields of energy

RIYADH — The government of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz Bin Salman, and the government of Indonesia, represented by Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for cooperation between the two brotherly countries in the fields of energy, in pursuit of their common aspirations, on the sidelines of the G20 summit meetings in Bali.

The MoU aims to enhance cooperation in the fields of oil and gas, electricity, renewable energy, energy efficiency, clean hydrogen, the application of the circular carbon economy and its technologies to reduce the effects of climate change, digital transformation, innovation, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence in the field of energy.

It includes cooperation through exchanging information and experiences in areas related to the MoU, exchanging visits between experts and specialists between the two parties, organizing conferences, seminars and working sessions, conducting joint studies.

It also includes working to develop qualitative partnerships between the two countries to localize materials, products and services related to all sectors and supply chains and their technologies, and enhancing cooperation between energy companies in the two brotherly countries. — SPA
