OSAKA — Saudi Arabia has announced that it will participate at the 2025 expo in Osaka, organized by Japan.
The Kingdom's announcement came after signing the participation agreement on the sidelines of the First International Planning (IPM) meeting for Expo 2025, which was held on Wednesday in Osaka, Japan.
In order to continue its huge success with its pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, Saudi Arabia is keen to work greatly to showcase its heritage, culture, creativity and artistic, cultural and societal innovations, during its participation in Expo 2025 Osaka.
It is worth mentioning that Saudi Arabia’s efforts to showcase its heritage and culture to the world resulted in winning the award for the best pavilion participating in Expo 2020 Dubai. The pavilion received nearly 5 million visitors, equivalent to 24% of the total visits to Expo 2020.
The Kingdom's participation in Expo 2025 Osaka comes from its commitment to global cooperation to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This is in addition to the fact that the participation would contribute significantly to creating great opportunities for international cooperation and benefiting from global experiences to build a better world for all.
Expo 2025 Osaka under the global slogan "Designing Future Society for Our Lives", seeks to strengthen efforts to unite peoples with different cultures and interests, with the aim of raising the level of global dialogue and exchange.
Expo 2025 Osaka will discuss ways to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) under three sub-themes: ensuring life sustainability, improving life, and enhancing life through communication.
It is noteworthy that Saudi Arabia's relationship with the Expo began in 1958, when it participated in the Brussels Expo.
Last September, Saudi Arabia officially submitted its bid to host the Expo 2030, under the slogan “The era of change: Leading the planet to a foresighted tomorrow.”
The host country for Expo 2030 will be selected by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) member states at the General Assembly meeting, which will be held in November 2023.
