Months-long Diriyah Season kicks off in historic Turaif district

RIYADH — Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Minister of Sports and President of Diriyah Season, inaugurated the activities of Diriyah Season 2022 in its 2nd edition, which will continue until February 22, 2023.

The opening ceremony was held on Thursday in Turaif district, in the presence of Diriyah Governor Prince Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Abdurrahman and Minister of Tourism Ahmed bin Aqeel Al-Khateeb.

Many live shows were held during the ceremony, in addition to announcing a package of international sports competitions and various recreational and cultural events, which will be witnessed in Diriyah over a period of four months.

The Minister of Sports said the historic city of Diriyah will witness many qualitative events, extending from its roots and as a permanent global destination for excellence and dazzle. The place carries a long heritage in the history of Saudi Arabia, he said. — SPA
