CITC governor holds bilateral meetings on sidelines of ITU meet in Romania

The CITC Governor Dr. Mohammed Bin Saud Al-Tamimi met with the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan and the Minister of Economic Affairs of the Bahamas on the sidelines of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU)’s Plenipotentiary Conference in Romania.

BUCHAREST — The Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) Governor Dr. Mohammed Bin Saud Al-Tamimi held bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU)’s Plenipotentiary Conference here in Romania.

He met with the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan and the Minister of Economic Affairs of the Bahamas.

The meetings discussed ways to enhance strategic cooperation in developing the digital economy, as well as harnessing digital technologies for sustainable economic development.

They also discussed a number of issues of common interest and ways to enhance the fields of technology, research and innovation in emerging technologies and communications.

Saudi Arabia participates in the work of the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference, which is held every four years.

The Plenipotentiary Conference is the highest policy-making body in ITU, through which general policies are determined to achieve the goals of the Union.

The ITU also approves the strategic and financial plan of the Union for the next four years, in which member states decide the role of the organization in the future. — SPA
