JEDDAH — The Second Red Bull Winning 5 qualifies are all set to begin in Madinah, Jizan, Abha, Jeddah and Makkah.
The Red Bull Winning 5 features teams of five players apiece competing against each other in 10-minute matches. When a team scores a goal, the team that is scored against must eliminate one of its teammates. The winner is the first team to eliminate all players of the opposite team or team with most goals at full time. Goals are two meters wide and one-meter high with no goalkeeper.
The concept of the event, which was originated in Saudi Arabia last year and registered internationally, will be introduced during the official opening of the 1st Saudi Sports Exhibition to be held in Jeddah on Oct. 23 at Jeddah Center for Forums and Events with the attendance of Prince Nawaf Bin Faisal, Chairman of the General Presidency of Youth Welfare; Ahmed Eid, President of Saudi Football Federation, and a number of Saudi and international sports figures.
The qualifying tournaments are open for the public to register at the participating football grounds before or on the day of the qualifier. The aim of the event according to organizers is to get young Saudi players the opportunity to show off their skills in a competitive environment and learn how to adapt to playing international football.
The competition will attract some of the best players in Saudi Arabia headed by Red Bull Athlete Naif Hazazi, Saudi International striker.
